Games being are deleted from PS4 automatically. This needs to be made aware in my opinion. Some PS4 users like me are having some of their games 'disappear' from the system. For me it's been recurring for a number of weeks now and this morning Killzone was missing from my system after only playing it 2 days ago and seeing it on my system last. When I download from my phone to the PS4 it always works. But when I pre order a game it never auto downloads. My problem usually is that I actually have to manually start the download, even if it says it will auto-download. Also, if there is a day one patch, I actually have to be logged in to have it update. Make sure you are signed in to the correct account. To download the game, you’ll need to use the same account that was used to buy the game.
Application Update Files: This means games. When enabled, your PS4 will download and install the latest game updates as they come in—as long as the PS4 is on, anyway. If you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, it will also download files while in rest mode, which is much cooler. If playing on a disc the first thing to do is check the disc for any scratches or smudges, I fixed the issue with one of my games a while back simply by giving the disc a wipe. If the issue remains and you are using a disc, first delete the game data and once done eject and reinsert the disc and it should start up. Playing video games on the PS4 is great fun, but developers sometimes need to fix bugs and glitches in their games. Fortunately, updating your PS4 games is easy. The most convenient way to do it is to set up automatic downloads, allowing your games to update in the background or while your PS4 is in standby mode.
Answer (1 of 10): Like Eddie said, this is to prevent people from pirating a game. If they let you play this installed game without a disk, what would stop you from installing it on 10 of your friend’s PS4s and letting them all play it without using the disk?. PS4 games no longer auto updating. I have no idea what's going on here. Up until recently, my games would auto update like normal but they won't do it anymore. I've unchecked the option, restarted, rechecked it and restarted again. I've also rebuilt the database and it still doesn't work. Go to Settings Saved Data and Game/App Settings Automatic Updates. Turn on Auto-Download or Auto-Install in Rest Mode. When you turn on Auto-Install, the next time you turn on your PS5 console, your games and apps will be updated to their latest versions. When you don't want to close your suspended game or app, only turn on Auto-Download.
